A quick glimpse of what Sunday mornings look like...

  • Many people arrive around 8:45 a.m., to stop in the Gathering Place for a cup of coffee or juice, and a pastry. Donations for the treats are used to buy food for the Alamance Food Pantry.

  • Sunday school starts at 9 a.m., and ends by 9:50, so that families can get to worship in the sanctuary on time.

  • An infant/toddler nursery is provided during the Sunday school hour (9-9:50 a.m.) and also during the worship service (10-11:15 a.m.).

  • Worship service starts at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary, and is usually finished by 11:15 a.m.

  • Worship at Alamance is a blend of traditional Protestant, contemporary Christian, and global practices, to best serve a congregation with a wide range of expectations about worship.

  • Musical instruments used in worship can include piano, trumpet, harmonica, guitar, banjo, pipe organ, tribal drums, accordion, and various percussion devices.

  • There is a Time for Children on most Sundays of the year, during worship (a “children’s sermon”). Children’s worship bags are provided at sanctuary entrances for young children who stay in worship with their parents.

  • Children's Church: Children from age 4-5th grade may leave the sanctuary after the Time for Children. They go with the Director of Children’s Ministry for a special worship service of story and song, designed just for them. Children rejoin the congregation for the last part of the worship service.
