Alamance Food Pantry

Alamance Food Pantry Serving the Southeast Community!
The congregation of Alamance Presbyterian Church (APC) in partnership with Greensboro Urban Ministry (GUM) and Second Harvest has established a food pantry for the Southeast community.
Eligibility requirements for the Alamance Food Pantry are different than those for people who receive food from GUM on E. Lee Street. If a family wants to receive food, they must call the church office (697-0488) beginning at 8:30am on Monday prior to the Saturday distribution. It is suggested that they call within the first couple hours on morning, as there are a limited number of food boxes and the list to receive food for the following Saturday fills within a couple hours. They will be asked some basic questions, such as size of family, any food allergies, and if there are any special needs for items (like diapers and baby formula). On Saturday, when they come to pick up food, we will have some information about other services that may be helpful. There are many public programs already in place to help struggling families stay in their homes and keep their families intact.

We will purchase bags of food each week from GUM or Second Harvest. We will solicit food donations from our congregation and our community.

The quantity of food is designed to feed a family for a week. There will be no charge to the recipients for the food. Food will be distributed to needy families on each Saturday from 11:00 – 11:30 am in the Gathering Rooms at Alamance Presbyterian Church, 4000 Presbyterian Road. The Gathering Room is located through the double doors of the main entrance under the Welcome sign.

In accordance with federal law and US Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
To receive food, call Alamance Presbyterian Church at the number below and speak with Lynn Barnes (or others in the office) beginning at 8:30 each Monday to sign-up for the following Saturday food pick-up. We look forward to hearing from you!
